Severne Sails scored a goal creating the S1, the wave and freestyle lighter sail on the market, which I have been using since I joined the Team Severne and with whom I have enjoyed and allowed me to progress faster to its equilibrium and neutrality in addition to his aforementioned lightness (prerequisite in a sail that you will use for freestyle). Well, when I thought that there couldn´t be more lighter sail, I try the little sister of the S-1, the XS-1, a sail designed by Ben Severne to meet the needs of the kids of the family, those with future projection. A sail of ultra high performance (same construction as the S-1) but adapted to smaller riders with a mast height of 3 meters! (75cm shorter than the S-1 to the same size) and one batten less that makes the sail even lighter.

que entré en el Team Severne y con la que tanto he disfrutado y me ha permitido progresar más rápido por su equilibrio y neutralidad además de por su ya mencionada ligereza (requisito imprescindible en una vela que vas a usar en freestyle). Pues bien, cuando ya pensaba que no podía haber vela más ligera voy y pruebo la hermanita pequeña de la S-1, la XS-1, un vela diseñada por Ben Severne para satisfacer las necesidades de los más peques de la familia, aquellos con proyección de futuro. Una vela de altísimas prestaciones (misma construcción que la S-1) pero adaptado a riders más pequeños con una altura de mástil de 3 metros! (75cm más corta que la S-1 en la misma medida) y un sable menos que le quita peso.
The result is a surprisingly light and compact sail that has become my favorite freestyle in rough conditions as the largest size is 3.6, perfect for joining after the 4th of S-1. Although I would not mind having 4.0 and 4.5 in XS-1!
El resultado es una vela sorprendentemente ligera y compacta que se ha convertido en mi favorita para freestyle en condiciones fuertes ya que la medida más grande es 3.6, perfecto para empalmar después con la 4.o de S-1. ¡Aunque no me importaría nada tener 4.0 y 4.5 en XS-1!
My recommendation: The XS-1 is undoubtedly the perfect sail for riders up to 50-55kg. Ideal for children but also for many girls who can´t windsurf with heavy sails . If you have the opportunity to try ... do it! You will be shock!
Mi recomendación: La XS-1 es sin duda la vela perfecta para riders de hasta 50-55kg. Ideal para niños pero también para muchísimas chicas que andan pasándolo mal con velas pesadas. Si tenéis la oportunidad de probarla... hacedlo! Os dejará alucinados!
